Applications Open for 2025 AVCAT Scholarships

BATTLE OF BRITAIN ‘LACE’

The Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust (AVCAT) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2025 AVCAT Scholarships on 18 August 2024, coinciding with Vietnam Veterans’ Day.

These scholarships provide financial support ranging from $4000 to $6000 per year, for up to three years, to assist the children and grandchildren of Australian ex-serving veterans in pursuing tertiary education.

Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled, or planning to enrol, in a full-time course for at least one academic year at a university, TAFE or RTO in 2025.
  • The child, stepchild, foster child, or grandchild of an Australian ex-serving veteran.
  • An Australian citizen or permanent resident.
  • In receipt of, or eligible to receive in 2025, a means-tested Commonwealth educational payment such as Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY, Austudy, the Veterans’ Children Education Scheme (VCES) or the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act Education and Training Scheme (MRCAETS).

The Long Tan Bursary, sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs, is one of the many scholarships available through AVCAT. For a complete list of sponsors and more scholarship details, visit AVCAT’s website.
