Annual Commemorative Service in Toowoomba

Annual Commemorative Service in Toowoomba

The Toowoomba branch of the RAAF Association is proud to announce its upcoming annual joint commemorative service, paying tribute to the Battle of Britain and the Battle for Australia.

This significant event will take place at the Mothers Memorial Gardens, situated at the corner of Margaret and Burstow Streets, opposite Queens Park in Toowoomba on Saturday, 9 September at 10am.

The Battle of Britain, a pivotal moment during World War II, and the Battle for Australia, a testament to the valour of Australian forces, are two historical chapters deeply etched in our shared heritage. The event will see AFA members and the local community unite to honour the courageous service personnel who defended our freedom and protected our shores.

AFA Toowoomba branch president Gary Graham said this commemorative service “stood as a symbol of our enduring commitment to ensure their legacy lives on, inspiring generations to come”.

Mr Graham and his fellow members extend an open invitation to all to join them at this solemn yet uplifting event.
