STATE & TERRITORY DIVISIONS

With a Division in every State and the ACT, the Air Force Association is a strong and effective voice in supporting the welfare and wellbeing of veterans and their families.

National Board of Directors

 The Air Force Association is a not for profit, public company, limited by guarantee. It is also an approved Public Benevolent Institution and is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient.

The Board of the Air Force Association Ltd serves as the governing body of the Company, being responsible for managing the business of the Company.

In this capacity the Board seeks to raise and administer funds for the purposes of relieving the suffering of, and supporting the health and wellbeing of Veterans and their family members, as set out in the Company’s Constitution. The Board also undertakes strategic advocacy including engagement with the Australian Government.

The Board comprises:

• The National President (elected for a 3-year term) as Chair

• The National Vice President (elected for a 2-year term)

• The Chief of Air Force Director (nominated by the Chief of Air Force and elected by the Company’s Members).

• Up to 5 additional elected Directors (3-year terms) • Up to 3 appointed Directors (1-year renewable terms)

This structure ensures skilled oversight while maintaining strong ties to the Air Force and the Air Force Association’s Divisions, these being the Members of the Company.

The Board works closely with the Federation Council, i.e., the Presidents of the State and Territory Divisions. The Federation Council may advise the Board on national and state priorities.
