ANZAC Day 2026 Photo Gallery

BATTLE OF BRITAIN ‘LACE’

As we pause to remember on Anzac Day 2026, the AFA is proud to present this special gallery of photographs generously shared by our members and readers of the newsletter.

From cherished family portraits and service mementos to images of dawn services, memorials at rest and quiet moments of reflection, we plan to add to this gallery and capture the spirit of remembrance, gratitude and the enduring Anzac legacy that binds us all.

A sincere thank you to everyone who has already contributed their images – your personal stories and treasured moments help us honour the sacrifice, courage and mateship of all who have served.

Lest We Forget.

This Anzac Day in Cairns, Bill Maconachie (known as Slim) visited the Esplanade with his son Angus (Gus). The Cairns Regional Council has installed a series of Corflute banners alongside the Cenotaph to mark the 150th anniversary of Cairns. The banners highlight local individuals and events connected to Cairns and its defence history. Bill was honoured to discover that one of the banners features him.
