BATTLE OF BRITAIN ‘LACE’

The Australian Veterans’ Children Assistance Trust (AVCAT) is offering tertiary scholarships for 2026, providing $4,000–$6,000 annually for up to three years to children and grandchildren of Australian ex-serving veterans.

The scholarships, including the Long Tan Bursary sponsored by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, support full-time study at universities, TAFEs, or registered training organisations (RTOs).

Eligible applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, enrolled in a course of at least one year in 2026, and receiving or eligible for means-tested Commonwealth educational benefits such as Youth Allowance, ABSTUDY or Veterans’ Children Education Scheme (VCES).

Applications open on Vietnam Veterans’ Day, 18 August 2025, and close at midnight AEDT on 31 October 2025. Apply online and find full eligibility details at avcat.org.au.
