ESOs meet with Veterans' Affairs Minister on supporting Afghanistan Veterans

Ex-Service Organisations met with Australian Government representatives on Wednesday 18 August, to add their support to efforts underway to assist veterans and families impacted by the situation in Afghanistan.

The Air Force Association was one of many ESO’s that attended a meeting hosted by the Minister for Defence Personnel and Veterans’ Affairs, The Hon Andrew Gee MP, to coordinate veteran mental health outreach and support.

“Over the last 20 years, Australia has been a steadfast contributor to the fight against terrorism in Afghanistan. Now the Defence and veteran community need to know that we are steadfast in our commitment to their wellbeing at home.” said Mr Gee.

President of the Air Force Association, Carl Schiller said, “The Air Force Association welcomes the Government’s commitment to reaching out to our veterans at this challenging time and looks forward to working with the Minister to support our veteran community and their families.”
