In Your Eyes: Seeking Queensland Air Force and Navy Veterans

BATTLE OF BRITAIN ‘LACE’

 The Air Force Association is encouraging Queensland members and networks to support “In Your Eyes”, a photography and storytelling project led by Mr Colin Bushell on behalf of the Queensland Government, in partnership with Trek2Health.

The project will deliver professional portraits of 40–50 Queensland veterans who served overseas. The images and stories will feature in a curated gallery exhibition (potentially at Queensland Parliament House) and a published book, with launch events planned for Remembrance Day 2026 and ANZAC Day 2027.

Having already engaged Army veterans, the project is now seeking greater Air Force and Navy representation to achieve diversity across ranks, experience, gender and service eras.

Eligibility

  • Served overseas as part of the Australian Defence Force
  • Permanently residing in Queensland as at 1 January 2026

This is a meaningful chance to preserve Air Force and Navy stories for posterity ahead of the Remembrance Day timeline.
