Air Force To Support Warbirds Downunder 2024
The Royal Australian Air Force is supporting the Warbirds Downunder Airshow at Temora Aviation Museum, with a range of exciting flying and/or static displays from current aircraft including the F-35A Lightning II, C-130J Hercules, Roulettes aerobatic team and the RAAF Balloon, as well as a range of heritage aircraft from No. 100 Squadron.
RAAF Pilot Achieves Rare Milestone – 4000 Hours on Hornet
A Gold Coast / Amberley pilot has racked up 4000 hours on the Hornet – the second person in Australia to achieve the milestone.

RAAFA WA Opens Sir Valston Hancock House to Support Veterans
Western Australia’s first targeted accommodation program for local veterans, Sir Valston Hancock House, was officially opened on 25 September 2024. Air Force Association National Vice President, Deanna Nott, was in attendance to mark the occasion alongside other dignitaries.
Unveiling of new Sir Richard Williams Display at RAAF Base Edinburgh
On 12 August, AFA-SA participated in the unveiling of a new Sir Richard Williams Display honouring the Father of the Air Force by the new Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Steven Chappell at RAAF Base Edinburgh.

Tasmania Hosts Commemoration of Battle of Britain
Hobart’s defence community has paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of those who served during the Battle of Britain. This annual event, held over the weekend of 13 to 15 September 2024 and organised by the Tasmania Division of the RAAF Association, marks 35 years of honouring the pivotal aerial battles of September 1940.
